Hi Everybody,
Sunday's run was a great success. Thank you to those that attended.
We met at Engen, and I can see why that venue will have to get scrapped of our
list of meeting places. Filthy and disgusting.
Anyway, after a quick 'add some petrol', we were off to Franschoek. After having
said that we will do a calm run, it was clearly ignored and a few 200km/h plus
was witnessed. Arriving in Franschoek, brought the town traffic to a stand-still.
Not often that 4 GT's are seen!
We had breakfast and then did a top-end run over the mountain. I don't think
the car I was, in saw anything under 4500rpm and a few 6500 rmp was reached,
......and when we got to the Tierwater dam bridge, my girlfriend admitted that
once again the 200 mark was topped. These are mountain roads with the odd stretch.
Brilliant stuff.
We then ran through Grabouw and back onto the N2.
From there is was a nice sedated run back home.
All and all, it was great!
The next run is 20th May, with 7 GT40's. Would love some Cobras to join, so Peter
will forward this mail on to the Cobra club. I have attached some pics, but the
other guys took some more, and I will forward them on.
Best regards
Jean Fourie
